Some
objects are essential in any kitchen. If we want our cooks to work, we have to
generate a good environment around us and have at the reach of our hand a set
of tools that would be helpful.
Thus is
very important to have in the kitchen a nice set of knifes, the way aliments are
cut is extremely important for the quality of your cooking.
Whenever
possible grow your own herbs, it is always handy to have parsley, coriander,
spring onions (excellent for omelets), sage, etc… well, a never-ending display
of fresh aromas.
A huge variety
of wooden and silicone spoons, it is very important avoid flavors to mixture, one
spoon for each pan that you use, a set of pincers that can easily “interact”
with the food you are cooking without causing any damages.
It is very important to have a
cabinet full of dry spices, bay leaves, oreganos, but, nevertheless is highly
demanded to have mushrooms can, frozen asparagus, frozen berries, coconut cream…
But, do not forger, that all this must be measured, to that I will recommend you
to have a cup and a spoon measure.
And if you need to
whisk some eggs? I will leave a Nigela Lawson suggestion. An excellent toll
that I bought trough Amazon. The whisks (resembling a spring) smaller than the
ones they sell in Portugal, allow you to beat your eggs in more creamy texture.
To those who like
to make pancakes and crepes, please use spray oil, not that easily to find, but
it worth the effort.
Do not forget
to use non-stick skillets and pans. For your health please favor the olive oil
to the traditional frying oil.
Last,
but not least. I search, and search… and finally found and bought… the burner,
now I can do my crème brulee. :)
